Location: Polynesia; USA; Hawaiian Islands; Hawaii; Near the base of Hualalai
Collector(s): Rock, J.F.C. (Coll.#: 3890) Date: 18.vi.1909
Remarks: Hillebrand describes it as a small tree. I have observed trees of 1 ft or more in diameter and of a height of 40 ft. Also found on the hill at Puuwaawaa where it is a shrub. The bark is used like Oloua for ropes.
