Description:
The bay recieves the discharge of two main freshwater sources, the Wailoa and Wailuku Rivers, as well as the waters of natural springs ("all by the Leleiwi"). There are two harbors inside the bay: Hilo Harbor, built in 1930, and the Wailoa Sampan Basin and Boat Harbor, frequented by a wide variety of vessels, from large cruise ships to small 3 m long whalers. The Wailoa Harbor is located to the south of the Wailoa river mouth and occupies 0.408 acres. It has two boat ramps and 55 moorings
